De Glazen Toren "Extra"

Style: Ale
Brouwerij de Glazen Toren, Erpe-Mere, Belgium

De Glazen Toren Extra is a top fermented, blond full malt beer. The name refers to a flavorful light alcoholic beer of 4.8% ABV. The beer was hopped with the noble variety Saaz from the city Zatec (Czech Republic). These hop fields are on the UNESCO world heritage list. It is an ideal alternative to pilsner beers at an ever lower alcohol degree.
The early beginning of this style goes back to the 1830s. Created by monks in Belgium. Not for sale just for their own enjoyment during dinner. Almost 200 years later Brouwerij de Glazen Toren added this refreshing style to its
repertoire of historic Belgian brewing styles.
